A one day meet on Women and Scientific Microenterprices in Kerala (WASM-K)

Shakti, a national movement for women, would be holding a one-day meet on Women and Scientific Microenterprises in Kerala (WASM-K) An Experience Sharing Workshop here in July. The main objective of this workshop is to provide a common platform for women who have successfully taken up self employment schemes that have a scientific orientation.

Those involved in different sectors such as fisheries, agriculture, communication, textile, food processing or any field that uses innovation in either technology or in product itself can participate in the workshop. These microenterprises should be success stories for at least three years.

The women can give a presentation of their success at the workshop which would help other self-help groups or entrepreneurs to take up the challenge to emulate them or reach beyond. The experience sharing would also help planners to initiate new scientific programmes for the rural or urban poor

It is also planned to involve the technology developers and the trainers at the workshop.

along g with the technology adopters It is expected that this would help those interested in using such technologies to come together with scientists and plan for skill development in sustainable development.

Involvement of the women groups who have adopted various technologies and have thus generated employment using scientific technologies would be the highlight of the meet. Since the participants of this workshop will be mostly women of the low income group, there is no registration fee. Interested parties can contact 04842393242 or 9388867935 to get more details.
